Officially... today I am a part time resident of Long Island New York. Not going to lie - I am pretty excited. The fact that I have been traveling back and forth to NY for over 5 years now confirms my love for the food... people and most importantly shopping. (half kidding)

Anyhow, I am anxiously awaiting my next trip! Huntington is my new "hometown" with various local restaurants I am sure there will be tons in store!

Tonight like most women, I will meet up with girlfriends to enjoy drinks, dinner and EPL. If you are one of the few that hasn't read the book yet is about a woman who embarks on a journey of self-discovery, finding the true pleasure of nourishment by eating in Italy; the power of prayer in India, and, finally and unexpectedly, the inner peace and balance of true love in Bali.

So my question what does Eat Pray Love tea ($11.50, from Republic of Tea) taste like? Redemption and second chances?

Does “Eat” perfume from Fresh (there are also “Pray” and “Love” scents; $32) smell like pizza margherita?

As the movie opens today across the country, stores have cranked up a massive marketing campaign to women that might be called Eat Prey Shop, I think.

HSN has more than 400 EPL items, including suede Italian EPL over-the-knee boots ($299) and the EPL dream journals ($24.94 for a set of three)

Cost Plus World Market has an entire EPL section, that includes an Indonesian bench ($359.99) and a Roman Bistro Table and Chairs ($149).

Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom’s are carrying designer Sue Wong’s sari-inspired EPL dresses, starting at $175.

Lancome, whose new model is EPL star Julia Roberts, is out with an EPL trio of lip glosses ($36 from HSN.)

I'm probably not the only girl on the planet who can’t wait to see this on film; and despite the less than average reviews, any movie that features Julia Roberts and pizza on a "no carb left behind experience," definitely appeals to me.

Happy Tuesday. A little spontaneous I know coming from someone who at one time updated her blog daily, and now its going on almost 3 months of nada. A year ago I lived for theKcloset at any given moment I was ready to tell you all about my latest find or current obsession. Not that I still don't have a love for fashion and all things shinny - it's just that something else inside of me was saying "Krysta, come on let's jump!" Not into an adorable pair of shoes either. It was more like if you want something get it... it's not going to be handed to you. Run now, hurry, if you don't you'll miss it!

So I woke up one morning in May and thought "You know what? I only live once it's time to get this show on the road." I quit my job of 3 years (Actually I gave 3 weeks notice - relax) and decided that I was opening my own business. I paid thousands & thousands of dollars for college (still paying actually) and why so if I am not using an ounce of what my degree focus is?

Needless to say that is the biggest task you could ever endeavor, but I managed! I am not going to bore you with the details but mind you this... if you one day wake up and decide you want to take a complete 180 spin on your current career plan accordingly. Luckily I have an amazing support system, a great mentor along with wonderful family & friends and I'd say a decent amount of common sense. So now, here, today I can add to my list of 'things I am' an entrepreneur. (woohoo)

With everything in life you have to keep focused - never lose sight of the light at the end of the tunnel. Know what you want and take the good with the bad. I've had my fair share of bad, but the good surpasses it tenfold.

So what is it that I do now? I own LaBelVit (pronounced: laa-bell-vit) Communications, a strategic communications firm that provides advertising, public relations, social media and marketing services. I am based in Florida but have clients across the US (mostly up & down the east coast). So it's not the best photo but I tried. Working on a lot of new projects lately which has been keeping me running around a lot more than I'd like to admit. Yet being busy isn't a bad thing these days. This weekend I am looking to sit back on the sand and catch up on some reading. Any good books out there right now? I just finished RockStar (written by a friend of mine) I'll be posting about that next week. AMAZING. But I am missing out I feel...

I could of swore today was Monday... lately I feel like time is flying. The mornings turn into night quicker than I ever remember. Hello, its already near the end of April! Was I not just celebrating Christmas?

Dear Rain,

Let me start this off by saying that I still adore you. I love falling asleep to the sound of you, and I love the way you feel on a warm, summery day. Lately, I feel as if you've been smothering you've been here for what seems like weeks on and frankly it's getting a little stale (or should I say moldy?).

You're taking the sunshine out of my life, and it makes it harder to get through my day. On those days when I know I should be going to the gym, you're so cold that all I want to do is stay at home and eat something not healthy!

Let's just do a trial separation here. You can still come by from time to time; in fact I'd really like to see you on a less-intense basis. But for now, I have things to do, and I just don't want you around when I'm doing them. Maybe we can talk sometime next week for a little while; just not this weekend; I have beach plans in mind. And you're not invited. Sorry.

The lack of post this week is due to my new hobby, spinning. Two weeks ago boyfriend & I decided that it would be fun to try a spin class on Monday night. So off we went, with a towel and water bottle in hand. Having no idea what I was up against, I loved it.

The accomplished feeling you have after those grueling 50 minutes is breathtaking. (Literally) Between my new hobby, school and a couple other projects I am currently working on theKcloset has fallen a little short. So I apologize but don’t worry we’ll be back on track soon!

If there’s one thing that would make me jump out of bed in the morning, looking forward to having the first bite of the day, it would be the thought of sinking my teeth into a warm and fluffy roll embedded with a sweet layer of cinnamon sugar.

But any recipe that places warm cinnamon rolls on the breakfast table in under an hour? That’s definitely worth waking up for.

This recipe is worth the try!

And let’s just state for the record that I’m not a morning person to begin with.

Some say it's all about playing it safe, and while there is a degree of safety associated with blacks, whites, browns and grays, it is not about being boring and normal. I do have a wide varity of colored clothes, which I have been wearing more and more recently. So on goes every single shade of yellow I can find in my wardrobe, from goldy hues to flaxen shades, bright lemon yellow and then veering softly into a pastel and khaki. I'm squinting to see such wonderful colors.

Spring Cleaning

March 21st was the first day of spring; I didn't even realize it was March 21st when it occurred. Nor that it was the beginning of spring. This year has flown by that I can barely believe it's already the end of March!

The past couple days I have become what most would consider OCD, with the cleaning of my apartment. I have moved every picture frame, candle and cleared off my bookshelf wiping away ever last spec of dust.

Rather odd is the cool weather we are still experiencing in late March. But I am looking forward to the weekend so I can open my windows and let the breeze of fresh air flow thru my apartment.

You Don’t Know Jacques

I’m one of those lucky people whose nails are naturally strong and grow quickly. I love having them painted, but it always chips within a day or two. OPI has a new system called Axxium soak-off gel lacquers - I've been following the development of this product for some time & now it's finally available at my nail spa. I was excited to test out the new Axxium soak-off gel lacquers manicure at Village Nail Salon & Spa, in West Palm Beach.

How Does the Gel Nail Manicure Work?
Just like in a regular manicure, cuticles are pushed back and nails are filed. Nails are also buffed, so the gel adheres more strongly. Next a coat of gel “polish” is applied to each nail, with 30 seconds of drying time under a UV Light in between. A second coat is applied and then allowed to dry again for 30 seconds.

At the end of the gel nail mani, I was amazed that my nails truly were dry. The technician laughed at me when I asked for help getting my keys out of my bag and she insisted I could do it myself without ruining my mani. She was right!

How Long Does the Gel Nail Manicure Last?
As promised, the Axxium manicure lasted for at least two weeks. Those are my nails in the photo at the end of the two weeks. The gel “polish” did start to peel the teeniest bit on the sides, but was only obvious when you looked at my nails closely.

Were There Any Downsides to the Gel Nail Manicure?
The one serious downside was the removal the gel polish. They need to wrap each nail with a small piece of cotton soaked in acetone polish remover covered with a small piece of aluminum foil for 10-15 minutes. And then after my manicurist meticulously filed the rest off.

Is a Gel Nail Manicure Right for Me?
If you are going on vacation, getting married or the type who like to maintain an impeccable manicure, Gel Manicure may be right for you. It costs $45—about the same as two mani’s in Sunny South Florida

As for me, I’m sticking with my OPI You Don’t Know Jacques is a perfect neutral, sorta warm taupey shade that works with everything. Everytime I get sick of super dark nails, I go back to You Don’t Know Jacques. Love it!

Iron No More?

If you're like me, you HATE to iron. It's why I'm always very good about hanging up my clothes after the wash and always try to buy no-iron clothes. I'll do anything to get out of ironing, too, including begging my boyfriend to do it for me, paying for dry cleaning just so I don't have to iron and trying to pass off wrinkled as part of my look. (Don't burst my bubble.)

So I was super excited to try the new Swash Smooth It Out from Tide that promises to remove wrinkles in minutes, no-iron required. You simply lay your blouse, slacks or skirt flat on a bed, spray, then manually press out the wrinkles. Let it dry for five minutes, then your clothes are magically wrinkle free.

I found it to work pretty well. I should fess up that even when I try, I never can iron a blouse with military precision. So I wish the drying time were less. I can't function pre-shower, and it doesn't take me more than five minutes to put my makeup on on an average day!

Thank you all for all your wonderful comments & emails regarding the Krysta Marie Foundation. You're support means so much.

The only things I know that are going to happen on a day to day basis is I will drink a chai tea latte from Starbucks, my mom will call me and my email box will become full. Outside of that everyday is full of surprises. Lately it seems more than usual, which isn't a bad thing. Yet everyone once in awhile you just have to stand still for a moment and take a deep breathe.

Exciting News!

If you recall a week ago I said I had REALLY exciting news to share with everyone? Well I am so excited to share it all with you today!

In October 2009, I decided that it was time to give back. After being involved in charity work and fundraisers all my life I had this feeling I want to do MORE. Yes, running a 5k Race is great, donating your clothes to children in need, helping families build new homes or just simply being a friend to a ill child. All our great causes that I hold close to my heart.

With my love for fashion, my ability to raise money and give back to South Florida, the

(KMF) was born. The KMF is a non-profit organization that helps terminally ill children make a difference in the lives of those children that would otherwise be overlooked.

The KMF through our 'Fashion to Benefit Children' works with other organizations to raise money to help children experience the Gift of Giving. Which to me is the greatest gift in life.

I am so excited to share this next adventure with all of my lovely readers, if we have never met or exchanged emails your daily support is enough.

New Obession

My new obsession? Kelly Cutrone's book, If You Have to Cry, Go Outside, which I read in 2 days with the inability to put it down.

I’ve learned that she incredibly spiritual, even describing how finding faith (she actually invented her own religion) which helped her overcome a crystal meth addiction. Yes, a crystal meth addict and financed her addiction by reading tarot cards on Venice beach - after already having a successful PR career and before starting People's Revolution. Cutrone speaks candidly about breastfeeding in public (“My tits were like the Soho welcoming committee”) and as to wearing bulky, floral maternity clothes (“I’d rather clean toilets.”)

She offers good advice and an incredible story of how to go from the bottom to the very top of whatever you want to do - in her typical no-nonsense cut-the-crap way, of course.

Giada De Laurentiis is a god to me when it comes to cooking - I can always rely on her for an easy italian dinner or something sweet. Over the weekend I took a stab at her Italian Antipasto Salad as usual I was not the slightest bit disappointed. This quick easy salad is full of protein and the dressing is a bit tangy but everyone loved it.

Summer where are you? So many light delish meals I am drying to try out.

The Academy Awards went topless Sunday night.

Pampered Toasting

Weekends for me usually mean running numerous amounts of errands, in a short amount of time. I have mastered this skill by making sure the shoes I am wearing our comfortable and my bag is large enough to fit just about everything I could possible need in it.

This weekend was no different, filled of jumping in and out of the car while dodging mud puddles. I managed to get all my tasks done and even enjoy some relaxation time on Sunday.

Admit it doesn't look like much in pictures, but like many of my favorite items, once it's off the hat rack and on my head, it's got true wow factor. The soft brim of J.Crew's Summer Straw Hat ($34) manages to frame our face and shade our eyes, without being droopy or messy in the slightest. It's a spring and summer staple, and the simple lines make it easy to dress up with a floral pin or headband, or keep is casual for an afternoon at the beach.

Something Sweet for my Sweet

Valentines Day has come and gone. While I have never truly been a huge fan of the holiday this year to my surprise had me feeling a little differently. "Vogue" magazine editrix Anna Wintour at the Carolina Herrera show Monday morning. The Venezuelan-born Herrera has not given up on the luxe market despite the depressed economy.

With her label - and with designer brands in general - a skirt might cost $1,800; a cocktail dress is $3,000; a gown is $7,990 and a ball gown might start at $10,000. Guess I should start saving, yikes!

Happy Monday! It's been quite a crazy weekend in the heart of Fashion Week. While I am not watching a show or streaming it online I've been catching up with my magazine reading. I've spotted this necklace a dozen different times and I love it. After doing some much needed research I found the name behind this beauty, Jennifer Zeuner. This large swirly 3 Initial Pendant size 1 5/8" on 16" rope chain, ($242) is great for everday wear. I can only imagne how beautiful it would be along side a simple black dress.

You might of spotted it on Ms. Conrad as well.

It is a sad day for the fashion world as we learn that Fashion Designer Alexander McQueen has died. Already having something written for my post today I recently unveiled terrible news and felt I needed to share. Such an amazing designer with so much left to show the world. Such a true genius - a loss for the entire fashion world on so many levels.

I've been asked lately what do I wear to work? In the workplace I try to keep my outfits simple with clean lines and easy color. It is always fun to add a unexpected surprise now and again. The parallel zippers in the front are a cool yet a funky add to this gray skirt. I love that it has pockets as well – huge plus.

To keep the theme of the parallel lines, the panty hose were a given for this outfit. Still in winter months I don't want to bare legs just yet. The sheer look in the front mixed with the opque tights in the back leads to another shock. Work clothes should be fun and comfortable.

Wanting to be comfortable as I ran around this weekend preparing for a Superbowl party fit for kings I opted to dress in a brown romper I picked up while browsing recently in Vegas. (pic to come tomorrow!)
Who knew that jumpsuits and rompers would have become a must have attire for every women’s wardrobe this season. Best feature of this is that it can be worn by person of anyone as these are ideal for a wide range of lengths, from short rompers to long & flowy pantsuit. You can dress up in a designer romper or can just go for a full length jumpsuit, still looking chic and iconic. Spring without colors is meaningless so brighten things up by adding bold colors.

From loose to tight, full length to short, casual to formal, sporty to basic, jumpsuits fashion trend has emerged as a big hit for spring 2010. Here are some of my must haves.

Even though it is still considered winter I like to add a splash of color to an unexpecting look. This purple sweater is great for that. The light beige corduroy pants also give a hint of warmer days ahead.

My current love of the season? Clogs! These are Michael Kor Studded - I am looking to upgrade to the Miu Miu Clog but have trouble finding them. Any suggestions?

Cheat Sheet

Some days are tougher than others to pull off that put together look. Here are some of the items I consider 'cheats' that help me stumble my way to a everyday look.

1. Sleep Mask - if I know the night prior I have no plans of hitting the gym at 6pm then I make sure my sleep mask is near. That way come 6:30AM when the sun is shining thru my windows I can still catch some last minute ZzzZzz's.

2. Mario Badescu, Cleanse Lotion - Squirt a nickle size worth of this on a cotton ball in the morning and you skin feels so fresh & clean. A great help to lose that 'morning' look.

3. Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shin - Some days my hair & I aren't on the same page. If you have to add humidity into the mix it's a lost cause. Apply a little to center of your palm - do a fast run thru your hair and damage control is done!

4. Jergens Natural Glow - Although I live in South Florida, the sun isn't always shining. Apply to arms and legs fresh out of the shower, within hours you have a great sunkissed look. Reapply for 2-3 days to keep that glow going.

A weekend couch-side

So while I would of opted to have been doing anything besides keeping my couch warm this weekend, I am sad to say that was pretty much it. After my ~~lovely~~ trip to the dentist on Friday I visited no place besides my bed, couch and shower for 3 days. It is weekends like this that you really just want to cuddle up on the couch with applesauce (yes, my food of choice for the weekend) and a cozy sweater. Presenting: the perfect transitional layer, this Light Grey Pin Sweater. Las Vegas is known for being all about gambling, and partying, and fun. As they say, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. But what you may not know is that Las Vegas is also a hot fashion destination. Cute boutiques, designer flagship stores, and high end outlet malls, Las Vegas has something to suit any fashion followers’ discerning tastes.

I personally enjoyed the Mandalay Place Shops. Rather than slot machines I opted for Urban Outfitters, Max & Co & my new favorite Duo Boutique. Mandalay Place also has a Lush! Without hesitation (splurge isn’t the correct word) I had a blast with all the bath bombs, face toners & shower jellies.

Boot Tights, Really?

Back from Vegas! Our trip was fanastic even though the weather was slightly unwelcoming at first. Maybe it's just me, but it took me by surprise how chilly the casinos are inside. I managed with an abundance of boots and tights. Surely most of you have experienced the uncomfortable bunching and scrunching that comes when you're wearing socks , tights and boots. Smarter brains than mine came up with a brilliant solution: Bootights ($21). These tights have padded, sock-like bottoms and come in a variety of heights so you can get a pair for your ankle booties and your mid-calf boots. Genius!

I don't know if I am more excited that I am seeing Cirque Du Soleil's LOVE or to taste all the yummy food I've been hearing about. Either way I am thrilled and can't wait to see everything.

It's amazing the people you meet in a lifetime, I was lucky enough awhile back to meet Kalyn James, a acclaimed Choreographer who has managed to bring the age-old art of Cabaret to meet the contemporary new in Temptation Cabaret. Temptation is nothing short of amazing, I was left in awe the entire 'journey' with these beautiful 7 ladies.

These are just a faw of the MANY photo's taken that night (Thanks to my friends at ACT Productions in Miami) who were able to get their camera in and I wasn't! I highly recommend this show to anyone. Turkey Soup

So with the holidays here & gone, I am enjoying this burst of unusually cold weather. I don't think the weather has surpassed 55 since the New Year. No complaints here thou, I am loving running around the house in socks and sweat pants. Still with many left overs from the holidays I decided to make Turkey Soup to keep my insides warm.

You’ll need:

2 cups leftover turkey, cut-up or shredded

8 small potatoes, quartered, cooked and drained

3 Tbsp. canola oil

6 Tbsp. light butter

1/3 cup onions, diced

1/3 cup celery, diced

1/3 cup carrots, sliced

1/2 cup mushrooms, diced

14 oz. can fat free chicken broth

1 pint heavy whipping cream

2 cups fat free half-n-half

1/2 cup frozen peas, thawed

1 cup frozen corn, thawed

Salt and pepper (to desired taste)

Add canola oil in a large stock pot or dutch oven and set heat to medium-high. Melt 3 Tbsp. of the light butter in heated canola oil. Add onions, celery and carrots and saute, stirring continually until veggies are fork tender and onions become transparent. Stir in mushrooms and stir for about 2-3 minutes, until thoroughly mixed and mushrooms are browning. Slowly stir in chicken broth and cook on medium heat for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add turkey, corn and peas. Slowly stir in cream, 3 Tbsp. butter and half and half. Add salt and pepper to desired taste. Cook on low heat, while stirring, until thickened for about 15-20 minutes.

Happy New Year! Hope everyone's 2010 has started off to a great start. Over the past weekend while visiting family, taking a mini 4 hour road trip and relaxing over numerous glasses of wine I did a lot of reading. Have you ever loved a book so much you read it twice, or maybe three times? For me that book is Eat, Pray, Love.

While browsing the web in search of books for my Kindle (thank you boyfriend) I somehow stumbled upon the fact that Eat Pray Love is a movie to be released in 2010! Happy New Year to me, more exciting it’s starting Julia Roberts! I am sitting in anticipation waiting for more trailers, etc to surface.

New York City is magical during the holidays. The spirit surrounds you everywhere you go. My favorite part? The window displays along 7th Ave. I love them all. Even though the weather wasn't that welcoming I was able to stroll along with umbrella in tow.

While browsing the windows I couldn't help but take a peek into some of my favorite stores. I ended up with something sparkling from one, and a couple great sweaters for my next return.

With all the hustle and bustle of the city I was able to find three handbags that I adore. Although I wasn't able to decide on one... just yet. B. Makowsky is a wonderful bag and I love the style. The Michael Kors Chain handle tote reminds me of a Birkin-ish style bag. And of course who doesn't love this Be&D Hobo (below)? Such a great bag for Spring & Summer!

It's Here! It's Here!

It's official I have began counting the hours till the magical holiday arrives. Tonight I start off at my parent’s house for a lot of delicious Italian cuisine. I adore the holiday season, the smell of baked goods and the holiday ‘spirit’ that fills the air. Tomorrow we will wake up with heaps of presents under the tree but mostly I am looking forward to spending time with my family & friends. Then it’s off to New York until next week.

Christmas is my favorite holiday! I love all the lights on the houses, the stores decorated and the smell of yummy cookies in my kitchen. Being that it is still 80 degrees isn't really helping bring on the Christmas cheer, but from the inside of my house you'd never know it wasn't snowing outside!

Christmas Tree, I love hanging real candy canes from my tree.

This is a decorative bowl with glass globes I love it so much & didn't want to store it away. Adding extra ornaments to the mix gives it that holiday feel.

Candy, one house can never have enough candy around the holidays. I love putting out Hersey Kisses I buy all the different flavors so it's always a surprise on what you get. And I love the colored wrapping.

How To: Dress for Holiday Parties

Its feeling a lot like Christmas and we all know what that means, pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks, peppermint pedicures and the frantic dash to find the perfect outfit for “that” Christmas party. Whether it’s an office party, a dinner with family or a crazy night on the town with the girls there are a few DOs and ~~DONTs~~ to keep in mind while getting dressed for winter holidays.

DO Keep It Simple Sexy
A Little Black Dress is really perfect for holiday parties. Very cliché, but always classy. Keep the lines simple and the hem short. Wear it with opaque black tights and killer shoe-boots for mile long legs. Don’t forget to pair this simple look with one bold accessory - it is a party after all. Try a statement necklace or an eye-catching cocktail ring.

DON’T Take It Too Serious
Stay away from the obvious Holiday details. Don’t wear a Santa or light-up Christmas tree sweater. Stay away from the traditional Christmas colors (red and green). A better way to show your Christmas spirit is by wearing something ultra sparkly and glittery. Try a heavily beaded or sequin dress in silver or gold. My favorite not-so-obvious yet festive colors are royal purple and silver. If you really do want to incorporate red or green into your holiday look, do it in small doses, especially when it comes to accessories. Try a glittery red bag or red shoes paired with a short white or black shift dress.

DO Be Dramatic with Your Makeup and Hair
Christmas parties are a great time to go the extra mile with makeup and hair. One of my favorite beauty looks from the fall runways is the application of bronze eye shadow on the brow bone instead of the traditional light highlighting color. I suggest you use glitter shadows in gold and silver under your brows to really shine under the lights. As far as hair goes, the bigger the better. Also headbands are huge right now thanks to Gossip Girl and they’re here to stay all the way into next season. Try an up do paired with a bejeweled headband with soft eyes and a bold red lip.

DON’T Forget to Have Fun
There are so many brilliant designs in stores right now and it would be a shame to not have some fun and flaunt something outrageous. Whether it is feather detailing or extremely bright, don’t be scared to try something new. I always say, it’s better to be over dressed than under dressed and most of all…

DO try to make an effort
Have some courtesy and at least look presentable. Your host has spent much time and money to put together the party, and your most fabulous presence is required.

Nothing looked more fantastic against my black turtleneck this weekend than this Deco Mesh Necklace ($35). Baby It's Cold Outside.

Being from Florida, as most of you know - a coat and scarf ensemble is definitely out of my comfort zone. To us 'true' Floridians anything below 60° calls for a sweater & long pants without thought. During my travels in Toronto this past weekend I experienced -2° (Celsius that is) weather for the first time in what I consider awhile (over a year). With that being said I spent ninety-five percent of my trip layered up in sweaters, coat, scarves & hats.
I realized how vital good socks are, its not easy to text with leather gloves on & most importantly ALWAYS wear Chap Stick.

Meet Designer Kim Dingman of Jen & Kim Shoes

The idea of having custom made shoes is Cinderella like - having that fairy godmother to grace you with the perfect fitting shoe. Don't we all wish? Well now ladies our wish can come true - thanks to Jen & Kim Shoes. Recently upon a trip to Miami I was lucky enough to meet Kim of Jen & Kim. Explaining to me the thoughts behind this amazing company. It started in NY (where both Jen and Kim are from) with the idea of creating custom shoes. Upon further research the partnership discovered that domestic manufacturing was in fact happening in Los Angeles. So they packed up what they had and drove across the country...

The current collection (which consists of 15 styles) created with a wide range of leathers, vintage fabrics and exotic animal skins and they measure and trace each buyer’s foot when the order is placed for accurate fit and in 4-6 weeks the custom beauties are delivered. This service is great for brides and their bridal parties as the options are limitless. They can buy the materials right off the roll that their dresses are being made from and give the party truly matching shoes rather than those that need to be dyed.

So I got to take a bit of a peek of these amazing shoes.

Growing up one of my favorite holiday chores was wrapping all the presents. I was defiantly no expert in this field but I loved matching the ribbon with the beautiful bows my mother use to put on each package. It made each one seem so special. Maybe that is still why I love playing with ribbon for any reason.

These necklaces are a great way to make any outfit extra special. Skinny jeans, a solid blouse paired with any of these necklaces make it a perfect look for any occasion.

An Apple a Day

My sweet tooth seems to get the best of me around this time of year. I couldn't decide on one pie to make so I ultimately baked 4, just to be on the safe side. I didn’t want anyone to go without. My entire had the mixture of aromas between pecan pie, pumpkin pie, and key lime. For the first time Apple Pie also joined in - all homemade by yours truly.

I used this recipe along with some ‘suggestions’ from my grandma & Martha Stewart.

The indication it turned out as planned, no leftovers.

Shoe Deja Vu

A slight obsession over the past week in regards to boots has turned me into a boot browsing queen. As much as I love one boot to the next, I must acknowledge my closet isn’t crammed full of the latest Uggs.

Alexander McQueen’s ‘Pelle’ ankle boots were a huge hit after the Fall runways late last year. I obviously wasn’t the only one that noticed these biker-style boots, because just a few months later Mr. Madden with his ‘Seryna’, which are startlingly similar.

The McQueen boots will set your wallet back around $1,159. While the Madden versions are a mere $129.95. I’d be struggling to point out too many other differences, and since I know these precious boots will only get around a dozen days on sunshine I am learning towards the Maddens. Naturally.

Turkey Time

This year, we had a huge Thanksgiving dinner, which I couldn’t have been more excited about. While turning into Better Crocker the night prior I realized that my table wasn't going to make this Turkey Day Cut in it's usual form. Simple table cloth runner adorned with candles. I needed something to spice it up. So I quickly checkout the lovely Martha Stewart's Table settings to get some ideas.

I love the idea of the pinecones, pipe cleaners & feather. Second grade Arts & Crafts all over again.

Turkey Trivia is great for my younger sibilings... as well as those 'know it all' aunts and uncles.

We really don't see a change in the leaves in Florida, so these festive colors would be a great addition.

After cleaning the house in anticipation for the arrival of my guests on Thursday I realized that the 'bar' in our livingroom. Yes, bar. Needed some re-vamping with bottle upon bottle stacked I figured there had to be a better way to store our precious past time.

Look what I stumbled across I can keep the vino within easy reach, and use those colorful wine bottles as part of the décor with this rustic iron Thin Wall Wine Rack. ($53) It can be mounted vertically or horizontally, and will hold up to eight bottles of your fave vintages. The reclaimed-pipe look is also perfect for those of you enamored with the whole factory loft design aesthetic.

This weekend is going to include a lot of walking, yummy fresh bakery goods & some shopping. Yes you guessed it, I am off to NYC.

There is just something about the city I can't get enough of. I love going back & finding new little boutiques and amazing resturants. So this weekend my #1 spot to shop is A Little Wicked, carries a selection of vintage, re-worked and designer label womenswear! I can't wait to check it out first hand.

A Fashion Forward Cookbook

Despite the stereotype that fashion insiders are deathly afraid of calories, there's a long-standing romance between designers and food. The CFDA's new cookbook takes advantage of that relationship, bringing together recipes from industry bigwigs like Isaac Mizrahi, indie darlings like Shipley & Halmos, and everyone in between.

The designers have a tendency to reflect their work in their choices of food: Retro, no-nonsense Rachel Comey submitted a recipe for an egg sandwich on English muffins, while Betsey Johnson explains how to make an appropriately girlie sour cherry pie. As for Donna Karan, that quintessential new age New Yorker, she teaches us all about the ingredients in a green juice smoothie (kale features heavily, of course.) The book, which was published by Assouline in September, is currently going for $45 new, but you can get it on Amazon right now for $29.70.

Burried Treasure

Sometimes its the little things in life that mean the most. For the past few years I have had these beautiful rings that my nana had given to me before she passed away in 2003. I haven't worn them much because they needed to be sized, so they stayed put in my jewelry box. A few weeks ago I came across them and realized I should be wearing them, enjoying them as my nana would want me to be.

Tri color gold with leave shapes, very danty & vintage.

Black Onyx was my nanas favorite, I love the shape & setting of this ring.

When the Fall weather finally reaches South Florida I get super excited. Not only because I get to pull out sweaters, boots & scarves but the food that comes along with the weather. For example: smores. Yes they are great around camp fires in the summer but on a cool fall night nothing is better.

To say I've been stressed lately would be an understatement of the century. But rather than complain I strive to complete my project only to move forward onto bigger and better things ahead. In order for me to complete one task, I must take a 'break' in-between otherwise it becomes a constant cycle. So when I can take my 5 minutes breaks ( I didn't say they were luxurious) I usually leap for my newest unread magazine and a cup of tea. My favorite? Sleepytime Chamomille, the sweet smells relaxs all my senses for those 5 minutes.

Tonight I have decided to cuddle up my pile of magazines & a lots of sleepytime tea.

Ever have that moment when your not sure what accessories to wear? For me its an endless battle. Silver or gold? Costume or diamonds, chic or bold? This issue can't go over seen either for an accessory can ruin your entire look. Okay maybe I am over exaggerating a bit, but you get my point.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Kristen Kenney from Malaika for LIFE. A charity that gives children the chance to survive malaria, Africa’s deadliest yet treatable disease.

3000 children die a day from malaria, every day the Huruma Hospital provides on average 40 patients with the life-saving treatment. Leather Lust

I've been searching for a leather skirt for a while now, and feel that it would be such a great addition to my wardrobe. Unfortunately when it comes to skirts I have a pretty strict list of features that must be adhered to. I don't do mini and would want the skirt to hit knee at least. So that rules out all the abundance of leather skirts from the 80s. I also don't have the budget at the moment to stretch to new, designer leather. So I am on a mission to find something similar yet wallet friendly.

Pencil level is ideal, and picturing how great a leather pencil skirt could be with an oversized distressed tee, my loose blazer and a cool necklace. I’ll be sure to let you know what I find!

I pranced around in ballet slippers for the first 5 years of my life. Of course I'd wear them to ballet class, but then prancing down the store isles behind my mom in them and not to mention I can honestly say I slept in them. If you haven't dug out your tights from last year or gone out to purchase new ones, what could you possibly be waiting for? I love this time of year for this exact reason - change in styles! I picked up this A - Line floral embroider top not to long ago off Lincoln Rd in Miami. It’s simple yet chic and paired with a bold black belt made the details stand out even more.

I couldn't resist these funky tights either. A solid pattern in the back mixed with a sheer black hue in the front makes them great for work or play!

Happy November, which to me means it's officially the Fall season. So I am searching for the perfect studded boot and I think I've found just the right pair! The Cynthia Vincent Taylor Studded Peep Toe Booties ($295) are textured black leather ankle boots with a slim 3 1/2" heel and an exposed zipper up the back. I love that the black tone-on-tone stud detail is more of a decorative embellishment and doesn't outright scream, "Look at me, I'm studded!!" I'll be pairing mine with anything from feminine little dresses to cigarette jeans for looks that really make a statement.

Pumpkin Yum

Fall was knocking on my doorstep this weekend, and what goes better with Fall than the smell of pumpkin? The two go hand in hand. I decided to get a little crafty in the kitchen to help bring on that Fall feel.

This pumpkin loaf is something I've been making with my mom since I can remember. The recipe is uber easy & great for desert or even breakfast.

Pumpkin puree, sour cream & egg whites. Who would of thought?

Flour, cinnamon, nutmeg & yummy chocolate chips!

Great with a little melted butter added on top. Enjoy!

Chocolate Chip-Pumpkin Bread

Adapted from Cooking Light

1 cup sugar

1 cup pumpkin puree, homemade or canned

1/4 cup canola oil

1/4 cup sour cream (full or low fat)

2 large egg whites, lightly beaten

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup semi- or bitter-sweet chocolate chips

Cooking spray

Preheat oven to 350°. Coat a large (8-, 9- or 10-inch) loaf pan with spray.

Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl, stirring well with a whisk. Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups; level with a knife. Combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and baking soda in a medium bowl, stirring well with a whisk. Add flour mixture to pumpkin mixture, stirring just until moist. Stir in chocolate chips.

Spoon batter into prepared loaf pans. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in pans on a wire rack, and remove from pans. Cool completely on wire rack.
